${}^{78}$Ni 被揭示为抵御核形变双重魔数的堡垒

摘要

核魔数源于基于量子色动力学的强核力,对应于原子核内质子或中子完全占据的能壳。质子和中子均为魔数的双魔核呈球形,在整个核素图中极为罕见。虽然稳定核的魔数序列已确立,但证据表明在质子-中子不对称性大的核中会发生改变。在此,我们提供对双魔核 78{}^{78}Ni 的首次谱学研究,它比最后一个稳定镍同位素多出十四个中子。我们为其双魔性质提供了直接证据,这也由基于手征有效场论相互作用和准粒子随机相位近似的从头计算所预言。然而,我们的结果也首次指示了在此堡垒之外中子魔数50和质子魔数28的失效,其由竞争的形变结构引起。最先进的唯象壳模型计算重现了这种形状共存,并进一步预言以 78{}^{78}Ni 为转折点从球形到形变基态的快速转变。
