摘要
在电信领域，网络服务可及性作为一项要求，与公平服务于最宜描述为偏远地区的人口密切相关。然而，偏远连接本可从现有各代移动通信更具包容性的考量中受益。为弥补这一点，可持续及其社会影响正被定位为第六代（6G）研究与标准化活动的关键驱动因素。特别是，已有意识地尝试理解偏远无线连接的需求，从而更好地理解前方的挑战。在此视角下，本文概述了为农村地区提供宽带连接而在网络设计与部署约束方面需解决的关键挑战，并提出了用于弥合这些地区数字鸿沟的新方法和解决方案。
