Weakly J-submodules of Modules over Commutative Rings

Commutative Algebra 2021-04-14 v1

Abstract

Let RR be a commutative ring with identity and MM be a unitary RR-module. By J(R),J(R), we denote the Jacobson radical of RR. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of weakly JJ-submodules generalizing JJ-submodules. We call a proper submodule NN of MM a weakly JJ-submodule if whenever 0rmN0\neq rm\in N for rRr\in R and mMm\in M, then r(J(R)M:M)r\in(J(R)M:M) or mN.m\in N. Various properties and characterizations of weakly JJ-submodules are investigated especially in the case of multiplication modules.
