Abstract

Let MnM^n be a complete, non-compact and CC^\infty-smooth Riemannian manifold with nonnegative sectional curvature. Suppose \CalS\Cal S is a soul of MnM^n. Then any distance non-increasing retraction Ψ:Mn\CalS\Psi: M^n \to \Cal S must give rise to a CC^\infty-smooth Riemannian submersion.
