Superconductivity 2017-12-07 v1

Abstract

We report superconductivity at 1.4K in the ternary SrPt10_{10}P4_4 with a complex new structure. SrPt10_{10}P4_4 crystallizes in a monoclinic space-group C2/c (\#15) with lattice parameters a= 22.9151(9)A˚\AA, b= 13.1664(5)A˚\AA, c=13.4131(5)A˚\AA, and β\beta= 90.0270(5){^\circ}. Bulk superconductivity in the samples has been demonstrated through resistivity, ac susceptibility, and heat capacity measurements. High pressure measurements have shown that the superconducting TC_C is systematically suppressed upon application of pressure, with a dTC_C/dP coefficient of -0.016 K/GPa.
