SIN, COS, EXP and LOG of Liouville numbers

Number Theory 2022-02-24 v1

Abstract

For any Liouville number α\alpha, all of the following are transcendental numbers: eα\textrm{e}^\alpha, logeα\log_\textrm{e}\alpha, sinα\sin \alpha, cosα\cos\alpha, tanα\tan\alpha, sinhα\sinh\alpha, coshα\cosh\alpha, tanhα\tanh\alpha, arcsinα\arcsin\alpha and the inverse functions evaluated at α\alpha of the listed trigonometric and hyperbolic functions, noting that wherever multiple values are involved, every such value is transcendental. This remains true if "Liouville number" is replaced by "UU-number", where UU is one of Mahler's classes of transcendental numbers.
