Short effective intervals containing primes

Number Theory 2019-03-06 v1

Abstract

We prove that if xx is large enough, namely xx0x\ge x_0, then there exists a prime between x(1Δ1)x(1- \Delta^{-1}) and xx, where Δ\Delta is an effective constant computed in terms of x0x_0. This improves some previous results of Ramar\'e and Saouter and is used to verify the Ternary Goldbach Conjecture for the integers up to 7.8610277.86\cdot 10^{27}.
