Abstract

Consider an m×nm\times n table TT and latices paths ν1,,νk\nu_1,\ldots,\nu_k in TT such that each step νi+1νi=(1,1)\nu_{i+1}-\nu_i=(1,1), (1,0)(1,0) or (1,1)(1,-1). The number of paths from the (1,i)(1,i)-blank (resp. first column) to the (s,t)(s,t)-blank is denoted by Di(s,t)\mathcal{D}^i(s,t) (resp. D(s,t)\mathcal{D}(s,t)). Also, the number of all paths form the first column to the las column is denoted by Im(n)\mathcal{I}_m(n). We give explicit formulas for the numbers D1(s,t)\mathcal{D}^1(s,t) and D(s,t)\mathcal{D}(s,t).
