Abstract

We show that there exist absolute constants Δ>δ>0\Delta > \delta > 0 such that, for all n2n \geqslant 2, there exists a polynomial PP of degree nn, with ±1\pm 1 coefficients, such that δnP(z)Δn\delta\sqrt{n} \leqslant |P(z)| \leqslant \Delta\sqrt{n} for all zCz\in\mathbb{C} with z=1|z|=1. This confirms a conjecture of Littlewood from 1966.
