Diophantine Tuples over $\mathbb{Z}_p$

Number Theory 2019-02-26 v1

Abstract

For an element rr of a ring RR, a Diophantine D(r)D(r) mm-tuple is an mm-tuple (a1,a2,,am)(a_1,a_2,\ldots,a_m) of elements of RR such that for all i,ji,j with iji\neq j, aiaj+ra_ia_j+r is a perfect square in RR. In this article, we compute and estimate the measures of the sets of D(r)D(r) mm-tuples in the ring Zp\mathbb{Z}_p of pp-adic integers, as well as its residue field Fp\mathbb{F}_p.
