On finite groups with nine centralizers

Group Theory 2013-11-26 v1

Abstract

Given a finite group GG, let Cent(G)Cent(G) denote the set of distinct centralizers of elements of GG. The group GG is called nn-centralizer if Cent(G)=n|Cent(G)|=n and primitive nn-centralizer if Cent(G)=Cent(GZ(G))=n|Cent(G)|=|Cent(\frac{G}{Z(G)})|=n. In this paper, we characterize the 99-centralizer and the primitive 99-centralizer groups.
