Cycle double covers and non-separating cycles

Abstract

Which 22-regular subgraph RR of a cubic graph GG can be extended to a cycle double cover of GG? We provide a condition which ensures that every RR satisfying this condition is part of a cycle double cover of GG. As one consequence, we prove that every 22-connected cubic graph which has a decomposition into a spanning tree and a 22-regular subgraph CC consisting of kk circuits with k3k\leq 3, has a cycle double cover containing CC.
