Computing a Geodesic Two-Center of Points in a Simple Polygon

Abstract

Given a simple polygon PP and a set QQ of points contained in PP, we consider the geodesic kk-center problem where we want to find kk points, called \emph{centers}, in PP to minimize the maximum geodesic distance of any point of QQ to its closest center. In this paper, we focus on the case for k=2k=2 and present the first exact algorithm that efficiently computes an optimal 22-center of QQ with respect to the geodesic distance in PP.
