All large primes have Property D

Number Theory 2025-09-03 v1

Abstract

Let pp be a prime number, a1,a2,a4p4a_1, a_2, \ldots a_{4p-4} a sequence of elements in (Z/pmathbbZ)2(\mathbb{Z}/p\\mathbb{Z})^2, which does not contain a subsequence of length pp which adds up to 0. We show that if pp is sufficiently large, then the sequence contains exactly four different elements.
