We use variations on Lax type operators to find explicit formulas for certain elements of finite $W$-algebras. These give a complete set of generators for all finite $W$-algebras of types B,C,D for which the Dynkin grading is even.

Jacobi brackets (a generalization of standard Poisson brackets in which Leibniz's rule is replaced by a weaker condition) are extended to brackets involving an arbitrary (even) number of functions. This new structure includes, as a…

The theory of standard pentads is the theory aims to construct a graded Lie algebra whose local part consists of a given Lie algebra and its representation. In other words, using standard pentads, we can embed given Lie algebra and its…

We extend a theorem of Ladkani concerning derived equivalences between upper-triangular matrix rings from ordinary rings to ring spectra. Our result also extends an analogous theorem of Maycock for differential graded algebras.

$W$-algebras are certain algebraic structures associated to a finite dimensional Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ and a nilpotent element $f$ via Hamiltonian reduction. In this note we give a review of a recent approach to the study of (classical…
