We prove that harmonic morphisms preserve the Jacobi operator along harmonic maps. We apply this result to prove infinitesimal and local rigidity (in the sense of Toth) of harmonic morphisms to a sphere.

We describe two locally finite graphs naturally associated to each knot type K, called Reidemeister graphs. We determine several local and global properties of these graphs and prove that in one case the graph-isomorphism type is a complete…

A first characterization of the isomorphism classes of $k$-involutions for any reductive algebraic group defined over a perfect field was given in \cite{Helm2000} using $3$ invariants. In \cite{HWD04,Helm-Wu2002} a full classification of…

Let $R$ be a commutative $k-$algebra over a field $k$. Assume $R$ is a noetherian, infinite, integral domain. The group of $k-$automorphisms of $R$,i.e.$Aut_k(R)$ acts in a natural way on $(R-k)$.In the first part of this article, we study…

We give two characterizations of Jacobians of curves with involution having fixed points in the framework of two particular cases of Welter's trisecant conjecture. The geometric form of each of these characterizations is the statement that…

A commutative residuated lattice A is said to be subidempotent if the lower bounds of its neutral element e are idempotent (in which case they naturally constitute a Brouwerian algebra A*). It is proved here that epimorphisms are surjective…

By applying a variant of the TQFT constructed by Blanchet, Habegger, Masbaum, and Vogel, and using a construction of Ohtsuki, we define a module endomorphism for each knot K by using a tangle obtained from a surgery presentation of K. We…

Using divisors, an analog of the Jacobian for a compact connected nonorientable Klein surface $Y$ is constructed. The Jacobian is identified with the dual of the space of all harmonic real one-forms on $Y$ quotiented by the torsion-free…

We give a purely algebro-geometric proof that if the alpha-invariant of a Q-Fano variety X is greater than dim X/(dim X+1), then (X,O(-K_X)) is K-stable. The key of our proof is a relation among the Seshadri constants, the alpha-invariant…
