Weighted sums of some second-order sequences

Number Theory 2018-04-13 v3

Abstract

We derive weighted summation identities involving the second order recurrence sequence {wn}={wn(a,b;p,q)}\{w_n\} =\{ w_n(a,b; p, q)\} defined by w0=a,w1=b;wn=pwn1qwn2(n2)w_0 = a,\,w_1 = b;\,w_n = pw_{n - 1} - qw_{n - 2}\, (n \ge 2), where aa, bb, pp and qq are arbitrary complex numbers, with p0p\ne 0 and q0q\ne 0.
