Toroidal involutory Cayley graphs

Combinatorics 2025-08-05 v1 Commutative Algebra

Abstract

Suppose that RR is a finite commutative ring with identity. The involutory Cayley graph \G(R)\G(R) of RR is the graph whose vertices are the elements of RR, and two distinct vertices xx and yy are adjacent if and only if (xy)2=1(x-y)^2=1. In this paper, we classify all rings RR for which \G(R)\G(R) is a toroidal graph, that is, a graph that can be embedded on a torus.
