The Pattern of CP Asymmetries in $b\to s$ Transitions

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2009-11-11 v3

Abstract

New CP violating physics in bsb\to s transitions will modify the CP asymmetries in B decays into final CP eigenstates (ϕKS\phi K_S, ηKS\eta^\prime K_S, π0KS\pi^0 K_S, ωKS\omega K_S, ρ0KS\rho^0 K_S and ηKS\eta K_S) from their Standard Model values. In a model independent analysis, the pattern of deviations can be used to probe which Wilson coefficients get a significant contribution from the new physics. We demonstrate this idea using several well-motivated models of new physics, and apply it to current data.
