The $(\mathfrak{gl}_m,\mathfrak{gl}_n$) duality in the quantum toroidal setting

Abstract

On a Fock space constructed from mnmn free bosons and lattice Zmn{\Bbb {Z}}^{mn}, we give a level nn action of the quantum toroidal algebra Em\mathscr {E}_m associated to glm\mathfrak{gl}_m, together with a level mm action of the quantum toroidal algebra En{\mathscr E}_n associated to gln{\mathfrak {gl}}_n. We prove that the Em\mathscr {E}_m transfer matrices commute with the En\mathscr {E}_n transfer matrices after an appropriate identification of parameters.
