The 6-girth-thickness of the complete graph

Abstract

The gg-girth-thickness θ(g,G)\theta(g,G) of a graph GG is the minimum number of planar subgraphs of girth at least gg whose union is GG. In this paper, we determine the 66-girth-thickness θ(6,Kn)\theta(6,K_n) of the complete graph KnK_n in almost all cases. And also, we calculate by computer the missing value of θ(4,Kn)\theta(4,K_n).
