Piercing Pairwise Intersecting Geodesic Disks by Five Points

Computational Geometry 2021-12-14 v1

Abstract

Given a simple polygon PP on nn vertices, and a set DD of mm pairwise intersecting geodesic disks in PP, we show that five points in PP are always sufficient to pierce all the disks in DD. This improves the previous bound of 14, obtained by Bose, Carmi, and Shermer.
