On Decomposing Graphs Into Forests and Pseudoforests

Combinatorics 2019-06-27 v3

Abstract

We prove that for kNk \in \mathbb{N} and d2k+2d \leq 2k+2, if a graph has maximum average degree at most 2k+2dd+k+12k + \frac{2d}{d+k+1}, then GG decomposes into k+1k+1 pseudoforests, where one of the pseudoforests has all connected components having at most dd edges.
