On a sum involving certain arithmetic functions and the integral part function

Abstract

In this short, we study sums of the shape nxf([x/n])/[x/n],\sum_{n\leqslant x}{f([x/n])}/{[x/n]}, where ff is Euler totient function φ\varphi, Dedekind function Ψ\Psi, sum-of-divisors function σ\sigma or the alternating sum-of-divisors function β.\beta. We improve previous results when f=φf=\varphi and derive new estimates when f=Ψ,f=σf=\Psi, f=\sigma and f=β.f=\beta.
