Abstract
The effective mass of the the Pauli-Fierz Hamiltonain with ultraviolet cutoff and the bare mass in nonrelativistic QED with spin 1/2 is investigated. Analytic properties of in coupling constant are shown and explicit forms of constants and depending on such that are given. It is shown that the spin interaction enhances the effective mass and that there exist strictly positive constants and such that In particular does not diverges as but .
