Left centralizers on Lie ideals in prime and semiprime gamma rings

Abstract

Let UU be a Lie ideal of a 2-torsion free prime Γ\Gamma -ring MM such that uαuUu\alpha u\in U for all uUu\in U and αΓ\alpha \in\Gamma . If T:MMT:M\rightarrow M is an additive mapping satifying the relation T(uαu)=T(u)αuT(u\alpha u)=T(u)\alpha u for all uUu\in U and αΓ\alpha \in\Gamma , then we prove that T(uαv)=T(u)αvT(u\alpha v)=T(u)\alpha v for all u,vUu, v\in U and αΓ\alpha \in\Gamma . Also this result is extended to semiprime Γ\Gamma -rings.
