Johnson-Nyquist noise in narrow wires

Mesoscale and Nanoscale Physics 2007-05-23 v1

Abstract

The Johnson-Nyquist noise in narrow semiconducting wires having a transverse size smaller than the screening length is shown to be white up to frequency D/L2D/L^2 and to decay at higher frequencies as ω1/2\omega^{-{1/2}}. This result is contrasted with the noise spectra in neutral and charged liquids.
