Isometric copies of directed trees in orientations of graphs

Abstract

For every nNn\in\mathbb N we construct a finite graph GG such that every orientation G\vec G of GG contains an isometric copy of any oriented tree on nn vertices, and evaluate the smallest possible cardinality of GG. On the other hand, we prove that every graph GG admits an orientation containing no directed ω\omega-paths of infinite diameter.
