Introduction to total coalitions in graphs

Combinatorics 2022-12-13 v2

Abstract

Let GG be a graph with vertex set VV. Two disjoint sets V1,V2VV_1, V_2\subseteq V are called a total coalition in GG, if neither V1V_1 and V2V_2 is a total dominating set of GG but V1V2V_1\cup V_2 is a total dominating set. A total coalition partition of GG is a vertex partition π={V1,V2,,Vk}\pi=\{V_1,V_2,\ldots, V_k\} such that no set of π\pi is a total dominating set but each set ViπV_i\in \pi forms a total coalition with another set VjπV_j\in \pi. The maximum cardinality of a total coalition partition of GG is called the total coalition number of GG, denoted by TC(G)TC(G). In this paper, we initiate the study of the total coalition in graphs and its properties.
