Derived right adjoints of parabolic induction: an example

Representation Theory 2023-03-22 v2 Number Theory

Abstract

Suppose p5p \geq 5 is a prime number, and let G=SL2(Qp)G = \textrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Q}_p). We calculate the derived functors RnRBG(π)\textrm{R}^n\mathcal{R}_B^G(\pi), where BB is a Borel subgroup of GG, RBG\mathcal{R}_B^G is the right adjoint of smooth parabolic induction constructed by Vign\'eras, and π\pi is any smooth, absolutely irreducible, mod pp representation of GG.
