Abstract

Let GG be a finite solvable group, let pp be a prime such that p5p \geq 5 and Op(G)=1O_p(G)=1, and we denote Gp=pn|G|_p=p^n, then GG contains a block of defect less than or equal to 3n5\lfloor \frac {3n} 5 \rfloor. Let GG be a finite solvable group and let pap^a be the largest power of pp dividing χ(1)\chi(1) for an irreducible character χ\chi of GG, we show that G:\bF(G)pp3a|G:\bF(G)|_p \leq p^{3a} for p5p \geq 5.
