Abstract
The decay B→f0(980)KisstudiedwithintheframeworkofQCDfactorizationandthetwo−quarkscenarioforf_0(980).Therearetwodistinctpenguincontributionsandtheirinterferencedependsontheunknownmixingangle\thetaofstrangeandnonstrangequarkcontentsoff_0(980):destructivefor0<\theta<\pi/2andconstructivefor\pi/2<\theta<\pi.TheQCDsumrulemethodisappliedtoevaluatetheleading−twistlight−conedistributionamplitudesandthescalardecayconstantoff_0.Weconcludethattheshort−distanceapproachisnotadequatetoexplaintheobservedlargeratesoff_0K^-andf_0\ov K^0.Amongmanypossiblesubleadingcorrections,westudyandestimatethecontributionsfromthethree−partonFockstatesofthef_0andfromtheintrinsicgluoninsidetheBmeson.ItisfoundthatthespectatorgluonoftheBmesonmayplayaneminentrolefortheenhancementoff_0(980)K.Wepointoutthatiff_0(980)isafour−quarkstateaswidelyperceived,therewillexistextradiagramscontributingtoB\to f_0(980)K.However,inpracticeitisdifficulttomakequantitativepredictionsbasedonthefour−quarkpictureforf_0(980)asitinvolvesadditionalnonfactorizablecontributionsthataredifficulttoestimateandthecalculationsofthedecayconstantandformfactorsoff_0(980)$ are beyond the conventional quark model.
