Abstract

Let o(G)o(G) be the average order of a finite group GG. In this paper, we prove that if o(G)<3112o(G)<\frac{31}{12}\,, then GG is supersolvable. Moreover, we have o(G)=3112o(G)=\frac{31}{12} if and only if GA4G\cong A_4. We also classify finite groups GG satisfying o(G)<3112o(G)<\frac{31}{12}\,.
