A note on cut groups of odd order

Abstract

A group GG is said to be cut if, for every gGg \in G, each generator of < ⁣g ⁣>< \! g \! > is conjugated to either gg or g1g^{-1}. It is conjectured that a Sylow 3-subgroup PP of a cut group GG is cut. We prove that this is true if G|G| is odd.
