Transitive projective planes and insoluble groups

Group Theory 2013-12-24 v5 Combinatorics

Abstract

Suppose that a group GG acts transitively on the points of P\mathcal{P}, a finite non-Desarguesian projective plane. We prove that if GG is insoluble then G/O(G)G/O(G) is isomorphic to SL2(5)SL_2(5) or SL2(5).2SL_2(5).2.
