Topological $\pi$ modes and beyond

Abstract

This short Perspective article presents an overview of the discovery of topological π\pi modes as well as their physical significance in quantum computing and the understanding of an exotic phase of matter, i.e., the Floquet time crystal. The recent proposals of 2π/k2\pi/k modes as the generalizations of π\pi modes are further elucidated.
