Throwing $\pi$ at a wall

Classical Physics 2019-01-21 v1

Abstract

We discuss a method for calculating π \pi using elastic collision between two masses M M and m m , with X=m/M=102(1d) X = m/M = 10^{2(1-d)} where d d is an integer, and a wall. The total number of collisions between M M , m m and the wall corresponds to the first d d digits of π \pi .
