The Pion Cloud in Quenched QCD

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2007-05-23 v1 High Energy Physics - Lattice

Abstract

Diagrammatic methods and Large NcN_c QCD are used to argue that the nucleon as calculated in quenched QCD contains physics which can be ascribed to the pion cloud of the nucleon. In particular, it is argued that the physics corresponding to one-pion loops in chiral perturbation theory are included in the quenched approximation.
