The Dynamic Cosmological Term $\Lambda$: Some Aspects of Phenomenological Models

Astrophysics 2011-02-28 v1

Abstract

Choosing a phenomenological model of Λ\Lambda, viz. ΛH˙\Lambda \sim \dot H, it has been shown that this model of Λ\Lambda is equivalent to other three types of Λ\Lambda, Λ(a˙/a)2\Lambda \sim (\dot a/a)^2, Λa¨/a\Lambda \sim \ddot a/a and Λρ\Lambda \sim \rho. Through an indirect approach, it has also been possible to put a limit on the deceleration parameter qq. It has been shown that if qq becomes less than -1, then this model can predict about the presence of phantom energy.
