Superconductivity mystery turns 25

Superconductivity 2020-06-15 v1 Strongly Correlated Electrons

Abstract

In 1994, an unconventional form of superconductivity was detected in strontium ruthenate. The discovery has shed light on the mechanism of unconventional superconductivity at high temperatures. "The great tragedy of Science [is] the slaying of a beautiful hypothesis by an [experimental] fact." - T.H. Huxley, Biogenesis and abiogenesis, (1884)
