Psi'' decays to charmless final states

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2009-11-10 v3

Abstract

The importance of measuring the non-DDˉD \bar D decays of the ψ=ψ(3770)\psi'' = \psi(3770) resonance is discussed. These decays can shed light on a possible discrepancy between the total and DDˉD \bar D cross sections at the ψ\psi'', and on a proposed mechanism for enhancement of penguin amplitudes in BB meson decays through charm--anticharm annihilation. Measurements (including the ψ\psi'' line shape) in states of definite G-parity and in inclusive charmless final states such as η+X\eta' + X are found to be particularly important.
