Productivity of $[\mu, \lambda ]$-compactness

We show that if $\mu \leq \cf \lambda$ and $\lambda$ is a strong limit singular cardinal, then $[\mu, \lambda ]$-compactness is productive if and only if either $\mu= \omega$, or $\mu$ is $\lambda$-strongly compact.
