p-subgroups in the space Cremona group

Abstract

We prove that if XX is a rationally connected threefold and GG is a pp-subgroup in the group of birational selfmaps of XX, then GG is an abelian group generated by at most 33 elements provided that p17p\ge 17. We also prove a similar result for p11p\ge 11 under an assumption that GG acts on a (Gorenstein) GG-Fano threefold, and show that the same holds for p5p\ge 5 under an assumption that GG acts on a GG-Mori fiber space.
