Abstract
A graph is -saturated if is -free but for any edge in the complement of the graph contains . Gerbner et al. (Discrete Math., 345 (2022), 112921) initiated the study of , the minimum number of edges in a regular -vertex -saturated graph, and they posed the problem of for which graphs exists. Regarding this problem, we obtain the precise value of for all possible cases, where denotes a matching of size . As a natural counterpart, we also determine the maximum number of edges in a regular -vertex -free graph for all and .
