On k-Dyck paths with a negative boundary

Combinatorics 2020-08-19 v3

Abstract

Paths that consist of up-steps of one unit and down-steps of kk units, being bounded below by a horizontal line t-t, behave like t+1t+1 ordered tuples of kk-Dyck paths, provided that tkt\le k. We describe the general case, allowing tt also to be larger. Arguments are bijective and/or analytic.
