$n$-exangulated categories

Category Theory 2018-12-11 v3 Representation Theory

Abstract

For each positive integer nn we introduce the notion of nn-exangulated categories as higher dimensional analogues of extriangulated categories defined by Nakaoka-Palu. We characterize which nn-exangulated categories are nn-exact in the sense of Jasso and which are (n+2)(n+2)-angulated in the sense of Geiss-Keller-Oppermann. For extriangulated categories with enough projectives and injectives we introduce the notion of nn-cluster tilting subcategories and show that under certain conditions such nn-cluster tilting subcategories are nn-exangulated.
