Hamiltonicity of graphs perturbed by a random geometric graph

Combinatorics 2022-09-29 v2

Abstract

We study Hamiltonicity in graphs obtained as the union of a deterministic nn-vertex graph HH with linear degrees and a dd-dimensional random geometric graph Gd(n,r)G^d(n,r), for any d1d\geq1. We obtain an asymptotically optimal bound on the minimum rr for which a.a.s. HGd(n,r)H\cup G^d(n,r) is Hamiltonian. Our proof provides a linear time algorithm to find a Hamilton cycle in such graphs.
