Frame Potentials and Orthogonal Vectors

Abstract

An extension is given of a recent result of Glazyrin, showing that an orthonormal basis {ei}i=1d\{e_{i}\}_{i=1}^{d} joined with the vectors {ej}j=1m\{e_{j}\}_{j=1}^{m}, where 1m<d1\leq m < d minimizes the pp-frame potential for p[1,2log2m+12m/logm+1m]p\in[1,2\log{\frac{2m+1}{2m}}/\log{\frac{m+1}{m}}] over all collections of N=d+mN=d+m vectors {x1,,xN}\{x_1,\dots,x_N \} in Sd1\mathbb{S}^{d-1}.
