Convex hulls of polynomial Julia sets

Abstract

We prove P. Alexandersson's conjecture that for every complex polynomial pp of degree d2d \geq 2 the convex hull HpH_p of the Julia set JpJ_p of pp satisfies p1(Hp)Hpp^{-1}(H_p) \subset H_p. We further prove that the equality p1(Hp)=Hpp^{-1}(H_p) = H_p is achieved only if pp is affinely conjugated to the Chebyshev polynomial TdT_d of degree dd, to Td-T_d or a monomial czdc z^d with c=1|c|=1.
