Bose-Einstein Correlations for Jets and Heavy Ion Reactions

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2008-02-03 v2 Nuclear Theory

Abstract

Bose-Einstein correlations and invariant momentum distributions are analyzed for longitudinally expanding finite systems, like jets in elementary particle collisions or systems created in high energy heavy ion reactions. Cross-term generating hyperbolic mixing angle is introduced for HBT. Temporal or spatial temperature gradients are shown to contribute to thermal length and time scales for HBT. Results are illustrated in three figures.
